Harbin Normal University Chinese Government Scholarship

I. Recipients, duration and eligibility

Master’s scholarship: For applicants pursuing a master’s degree at Harbin Normal University, with three academic years of subject study. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree, have excellent academic results, be recommended by two professors or associate professors, pass the university’s entrance assessment and be no older than 35.

Doctoral scholarship: For applicants pursuing a doctoral degree at the university, with 3-4 academic years of subject study. Applicants must hold a master’s degree, have excellent academic results, be recommended by two professors or associate professors, pass the university’s entrance assessment and be no older than 40.

Note: Applicants with no Chinese foundation must undertake 1-2 years of remedial Chinese at the university. The government scholarship continues during this period.

II. Coverage

The Chinese Government Scholarship covers registration, tuition, living costs, accommodation and comprehensive medical insurance equivalent to that provided to Chinese students.

III. Application period

Applicants may request the following year’s admissions guide from the International Student Admissions Office each December and must submit all documents before April 1.
