Zhejiang University of Science and Technology Individual Achievement Scholarships for International Students

I. Recipients

Enrolled international students with outstanding achievements in academics, sport, art, cultural exchanges, public service or other areas.

II. Categories

Academic Diligence, Social Welfare, Excellence in Arts and Sport, Participation in Arts and Sport, and Development Potential.

III. Assessment conditions

1. Academic Diligence: Registered self-funded international Chinese language non-degree students who study diligently and achieve good or excellent results in every course, with an academic assessment score of at least 85. Selection proceeds from the highest scores. Absence during one semester, including sick leave, personal leave and unauthorized absence, must not exceed 30 class hours. Recipients of the Outstanding Chinese Language Student Scholarship may not also apply for Academic Diligence in the same semester.
2. Social Welfare: Excellent moral character, enthusiasm for public service, active involvement and important positions in student organizations, outstanding contributions to civility and a harmonious campus, and formal university commendation.
3. Excellence in Arts and Sport: Place in arts or sporting competitions organized nationally, provincially or municipally, or by the university.
4. Participation in Arts and Sport: Enthusiastic participation in such national, provincial or municipal, or university competitions.
5. Development Potential: Improvement of at least 25 points, including exactly 25, in academic results compared with the previous semester within the student’s class.

IV. Amounts and places

1. Academic Diligence: RMB 500, for 10% of Chinese language non-degree students.
2. Social Welfare: RMB 300-500, with no limit on places.
3. Excellence in Arts and Sport: Awards for placing in national, provincial or municipal, and university competitions are RMB 1500-2000, RMB 1000-1500 and RMB 300-500 respectively, with no limit on places.
4. Participation in Arts and Sport: Awards for participating in national, provincial or municipal, and university competitions are RMB 1000-2000, RMB 300-800 and RMB 100-300 respectively, with no limit on places.
