Fujian Medical University Academic Progress Scholarship for International Students

1. Coverage and Standards

This scholarship encourages self-funded international undergraduates to understand and be friendly toward China, observe laws and rules, study diligently and make progress. It rewards hard study, conscientious clinical internships, continuing improvement and excellent results. Recipients comprise 5% of students in each year, with RMB 1000 per person.

2. Scope

These rules apply to full-time self-funded international students with university student status, excluding first-year students.

3. Eligibility

1. Observe Chinese laws and regulations and the rules of Fujian Medical University and its Overseas Education College.
2. Have no disciplinary warning or more serious sanction for violating university rules during the award period.
3. Have no unpaid tuition, accommodation, insurance or other fees during that period.
4. Pass every required course examination for the academic year, with no absences or resit examinations.
5. Candidates are ranked by improvement in academic standing within their year, from greatest to least. Ties are resolved by the year’s academic ranking, with higher-ranked students given priority.

4. Application Period

Within three months after the beginning of each academic year.

5. Procedure/Route

1. In the first month of each academic year, counselors propose an initial list based on academic results. Recipients comprise 5% of each year. Students at the clinical internship stage do not participate in this scholarship.
2. Submit the list to the Overseas Education College’s Student Awards Review Leading Group.
3. The group conducts an initial review using annual overall results. Results are posted within the college for 3 working days. If no objections arise, they are submitted to the office of the university’s International Student Awards Review Leading Group.
4. That office submits the list to the university leading group for approval. After university-wide publication for 3 working days without objection, results are announced.
