Yunnan University Institutional Scholarship

I. Category and Scope

Yunnan University Institutional Scholarship, for international students in all undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs.

II. Eligibility and Requirements

1. Good character, willingness to observe Chinese laws and university rules, and respect for Chinese public morals and customs.
2. Health meeting the Ministry of Education’s Health Examination Standards for International Students in China.
3. Qualifications and age:
   • Bachelor’s: high school diploma, no older than 24.
   • Master’s: bachelor’s degree, no older than 35.
   • Doctoral: master’s degree, no older than 40.
4. Undergraduate scholarship applicants should in principle have passed HSK Level 4 or above; master’s and doctoral applicants should in principle have passed HSK Level 5 or above.

III. Documents

1. Yunnan University International Undergraduate Scholarship Application Form or International Master’s and Doctoral Scholarship Application Form.
2. Copy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form; retain the original.
3. Notarized highest academic qualification and degree evidence in Chinese or English. Graduating students may provide enrollment evidence with corresponding notarized Chinese or English documents.
4. Detailed study or research plan in China, at least 800 words in Chinese or English.
5. Recommendations from two professors or associate professors, in Chinese or English.
6. Copies of published articles.
7. HSK certificate copy.
8. 3 recent bareheaded photographs and a passport copy.

IV. Coverage

Tuition and accommodation during study: 4 years for undergraduates, 3 for master’s students and 4 for doctoral students.

V. Review Requirements

Recipients undergo annual university review of attendance, academic results and daily conduct. Failure to pass cancels funding.

VI. VI. Application Method, Dates and Location

1. Prepare all documents; materials will not be returned.
2. Apply before May 20 each year, in person, through an authorized representative or by post. Mailed materials must arrive before the deadline.
