III. Eligibility

1. Applicants must be in good health, hold a valid foreign passport, and comply with Chinese laws and regulations and university rules.
2. Doctoral applicants must hold a master’s degree and generally be no older than 45. Master’s applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and generally be no older than 35.
3. Academic performance, academic level and language proficiency must meet the admission requirements of the chosen program.
4. Applicants must have good character, no illegal or criminal conduct or adverse credit records in their home country or China, reliable financial support, and a guarantor for their affairs in China.

IV. Application dates

The application deadline is June 15 each year.

V. Required documents

1. Beijing Technology and Business University International Student Admission Application Form, printed directly from the international student online application system at http://admission.btbu.edu.cn. Be sure to upload a photograph.
2. Curriculum vitae.
3. Certified highest academic qualification certificate and transcripts. Doctoral applicants must provide both master’s and undergraduate transcripts.
4. Copy of the information page of a valid ordinary passport.
5. Foreigner Physical Examination Record, downloadable from the BTBU online application system. Examination results are valid for 6 months; applicants should schedule their examination accordingly.
6. Applicants for Chinese-taught degree programs must submit an original or copy of an HSK Level 5 certificate or new HSK Level 4 result of 210 or above. Special exemptions from document submission, if any, are handled according to the circumstances.
7. Applicants for fully English-taught programs whose native language is not English must provide a TOEFL iBT result of 70 or above, IELTS 5.5 or above, a score certificate, or other evidence of English proficiency.
8. Two recommendation letters.
9. A personal study plan of more than 400 words.
10. A draft dissertation or research paper, required only from doctoral applicants.
11. All documents in languages other than Chinese or English must include certified Chinese or English translations.

VI. Application procedure

1. Apply to Beijing Technology and Business University and submit the documents.
2. The university reviews the documents and arranges an interview.
3. The university notifies applicants of admission results and mails admission documents.
