Zhejiang University of Science and Technology Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students

I. Recipients

International students about to begin or already undertaking study in Zhejiang, including postgraduate, undergraduate and long-term visiting students studying for one year or longer. Applicants must be in good health.

II. Scholarship categories

1. Category A: a one-time grant of RMB 30000.

Supports outstanding international postgraduate students at Zhejiang University of Science and Technology. Main uses include registration, tuition, basic textbooks, accommodation, and insurance for major illness and accidents.

2. Category B: a one-time grant of RMB 20000.

Supports outstanding international undergraduate students at the university. Main uses include registration, tuition, basic textbooks, accommodation, and insurance for major illness and accidents.

3. Category C: a one-time grant of RMB 6000.

Rewards long-term international visiting students already studying at Zhejiang universities who demonstrate excellent character and academic results.

III. Application period

Reviewed once annually. Applications are generally accepted from January to May each year.

IV. Eligibility

1. Basic requirements

(1) Undergraduate applicants must hold a qualification or certificate equivalent to Chinese senior-high-school graduation and be no older than 30.

(2) Master’s applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, provide recommendations from 2 professors or associate professors and be no older than 35.

(3) Doctoral applicants must hold a master’s degree or equivalent, provide recommendations from 2 professors or associate professors and be no older than 40.

2. Other requirements

(1) Hold foreign nationality and a foreign passport, be friendly toward China and be in good health.

(2) Demonstrate good conduct, with no university disciplinary violations such as skipping classes and no violations of Chinese laws or regulations outside campus.

(3) Have the appropriate Chinese proficiency and provide evidence such as HSK or other Chinese study and examination certificates. Requirements may be relaxed appropriately for some programs taught directly in English.

(4) Rank among the top students in the relevant year or class.

(5) Not simultaneously hold another Chinese Government scholarship.

V. Required documents

Submitted documents are not returned. Provide two copies of the following:

(1) Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students Application Form.

(2) Notarized highest academic qualification certificate and transcripts. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must include Chinese or English translations.

(3) Passport copy.

(4) Foreigner Physical Examination Record.

(5) Recommendation letters.
