Yanshan University Doctoral Scholarship for International Students

I. Study category, duration and language

1. This program admits doctoral students only. Study lasts 4 years, with an optional application for 1 year of Chinese language preparation.
2. Instruction is in Chinese or English.

II. Eligibility

1. Be in good health, hold foreign nationality and a foreign passport.
2. Applicants for doctoral study in China must hold a bachelor’s degree and be no older than 40.
3. Not receive a Chinese Government Scholarship, Confucius Institute Scholarship or any other scholarship.

III. Coverage and amounts

• Application, tuition and accommodation fee waivers.
• Monthly living allowance of RMB 1400.
• One-time settlement allowance of RMB 2000.

IV. Required documents

1. Yanshan University Scholarship Application Form.
2. Passport copy.
3. Yanshan University International Student Admission Application Form, with photograph.
4. Notarized copies of the highest qualification certificate and transcripts.
5. Curriculum vitae.
6. Foreigner Physical Examination Record.
7. Chinese-taught programs: copy of an HSK certificate, new HSK Level 5 or above. English-taught programs: IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 85.
8. Personal statement.
9. Recommendations from two scholars of associate professor rank or above.

V. Application period and deadline

December 20-May 20 each year.
