Zhejiang Normal University Scholarship for Outstanding International Students

1. Coverage and Standards

The scholarship recruits outstanding undergraduate, master’s and doctoral international students, with different award types within each category. Recipients may apply for on-campus accommodation but must pay accommodation, water and electricity charges themselves. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health, generally aged 18-35.

All Zhejiang Normal University programs.

3. Eligibility

1. Foreign citizenship and passport, friendliness toward China and good health.
2. Diligent study and excellent results.
3. Good conduct, a positive attitude and no criminal record.
4. No simultaneous receipt of another scholarship.

4. Application Period

March 5-June 30 each year.

5. Procedure/Route

1. Apply online at and select “I wish to apply for a Zhejiang Normal University Scholarship.”
2. Experts review applications and select qualified students on merit.
3. Admitted students pay an application fee of RMB 400 or USD 70.
4. The university prepares and mails the JW202 form, Admission Notice and related documents.

6. Documents

1. Scan of the passport photograph page.
2. Foreigner Physical Examination Form, uniformly printed by Chinese health and quarantine authorities and completed in English. Missing items, an absent photograph or cross-photo seal, or absent physician and hospital signatures and seals invalidate the form. 3. Highest qualification, recommendation evidence from the institution attended before coming to China, and transcripts, translated into Chinese or English and confirmed by the original institution or local notarial authority.
4. Study or research plan for China.
5. 2 recommendation letters from course teachers.

7. Review

1. The scholarship review group comprehensively assesses applications through fairness, impartiality and openness and selects recipients on merit.
2. Recipients undergo annual review. Eligibility is canceled for any of the following:
   • Unjustified nonpayment of tuition or other required charges.
   • Academic warning or withdrawal warning.
   • Violations of Chinese laws or university rules.

8. Notes

1. Applications are invalid if the passport name on the form does not match the passport scan or supporting documents are incomplete.
2. Recipients unable to register must notify the host institution in writing with reasons 15 days before registration. Those late without justification lose the scholarship and may not apply again.
3. Failure of the entry health examination cancels eligibility.
