East China University of Science and Technology President Scholarship for International Students

1. Coverage and Standards

Established in 2016, the scholarship offers 8 places annually to attract outstanding international master’s and doctoral students.

1. Full scholarships: 3 places for outstanding doctoral students, following Chinese Government full scholarship standards.
2. Partial scholarships: 5 places for outstanding master’s students, following Shanghai Municipal Government partial scholarship standards.

2. Available Programs

All master’s and doctoral programs. Priority for key disciplines; duration follows each program’s curriculum.

3. Eligibility

1. Non-Chinese citizenship and good health.
2. Doctoral applicants need a master’s degree and should generally be no older than 40; master’s applicants need a bachelor’s degree and should generally be no older than 35.
3. No simultaneous other scholarship.

4. Application Period

April 1-May 15 each year.

Register at http://apply.ecust.edu.cn, select the ECUST President Scholarship, complete the online form and upload:

1. International Student Admission Application Form, generated automatically from online information.
2. Passport copy.
3. Highest graduation and degree certificates. Other languages require notarized Chinese or English translations. Graduating students need expected graduation evidence from their institution.
4. Transcripts with notarized Chinese or English translations for other languages.
5. Study or research plan for China of at least 500 words, in English.
6. Two professor or associate professor recommendations.
7. HSK certificate for Chinese-taught programs.
