III. Eligibility

1. Good health, a valid foreign passport, and compliance with Chinese laws and university rules.
2. Doctoral applicants need a master’s degree and should generally be no older than 45; master’s applicants need a bachelor’s degree and should generally be no older than 35.
3. Academic results, academic capability and language ability must meet the intended program’s admission requirements.
4. Good character, no illegal or criminal conduct or adverse credit history in the home country or China, reliable financial support and a guarantor for affairs in China.

June 15 each year.

V. Documents

1. International Student Admission Application Form, printed from http://admission.btbu.edu.cn. Upload a photograph.
2. CV.
3. Authenticated highest qualification and transcripts. Doctoral applicants provide both master’s and undergraduate transcripts.
4. Identification page copy of a valid ordinary passport.
5. Foreigner Physical Examination Form, downloadable from the BTBU online system. Results are valid for 6 months; schedule accordingly.
6. Chinese-taught degree applicants need an original or copy of HSK Level 5, or new HSK Level 4 with at least 210. Special exemptions follow actual circumstances.
7. Non-native English speakers applying for entirely English-taught programs need TOEFL iBT at least 70 or IELTS at least 5.5, or other English proficiency evidence.
8. Two recommendations.
9. Study plan exceeding 400 words.
10. Draft paper, doctoral applicants only.
11. Other-language documents require authenticated Chinese or English translations.

VI. Procedure

1. Apply and submit documents to BTBU.
2. BTBU reviews and interviews.
3. BTBU notifies students and mails admission documents.
