Zhejiang Normal University Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students

The Zhejiang Provincial Government established this scholarship in 2009 to attract international students for study and research, improve educational levels and quality, and promote understanding of and friendship with Zhejiang.

I. Standards

1. Category A: RMB 30000 per person per year, for outstanding international postgraduate students in Zhejiang.
2. Category B: RMB 20000 per person per year, for outstanding international undergraduate students in Zhejiang.
3. Category C: RMB 6000 per person per year, rewarding outstanding long-term visiting students already enrolled at Zhejiang institutions.

II. Dates

Reviewed annually. Applications are generally accepted January-July, with a July 15 deadline.

III. Requirements

Basic requirements:

1. Undergraduate: qualification or certificate equivalent to Chinese senior high school graduation, age no older than 30.
2. Master’s: bachelor’s degree or equivalent, recommendations from 2 professors or associate professors, age no older than 35.
3. Doctoral: master’s degree or equivalent, recommendations from 2 professors or associate professors, age no older than 40.

Other requirements:

1. Foreign citizenship and passport, friendliness toward China and good health.
2. Good conduct and compliance with laws and rules.
3. Appropriate language proficiency with evidence: HSK or other Chinese study/test certificates for Chinese-taught programs; IELTS, TOEFL, GRE or other English study/result evidence for English-taught programs.
4. No simultaneous other scholarship.

III. Procedure

1. Apply online at .
2. Experts review and select eligible students on merit.
3. Admitted students pay RMB 400 or USD 70 application fee.
4. The university prepares and mails JW202 forms, Admission Notices and related documents.

IV. Documents

Provide electronic copies or scans:

1. Passport photograph page.
2. Foreigner Physical Examination Form, uniformly printed by Chinese health and quarantine authorities and completed in English. Missing items, an absent photograph or cross-photo seal, or absent physician and hospital signatures and seals invalidate it. Download: .
3. Highest qualification, recommendation evidence from the institution attended before China, and transcripts, translated into Chinese or English and confirmed by the original institution or local notarial authority.
4. Study or research plan for China.
5. 2 recommendations from course teachers.

V. Notes

1. Inconsistent passport names between form and scan, or incomplete supporting documents, invalidate applications.
2. Those unable to register must notify the host in writing with reasons 15 days before registration. Unjustified late arrival forfeits the scholarship and bars reapplication.
3. Failure of the entry health examination cancels eligibility.
