Fujian Medical University Chinese Language Learning Scholarship for International Students

1. Coverage and standards

To encourage international students to understand and be friendly toward China, obey laws and rules, study diligently and progress, and to motivate self-funded international undergraduates to learn Chinese, undertake clinical internships seriously and achieve excellent results, Fujian Medical University has established this scholarship with no limit on recipient numbers.

• HSK taken before the end of semester six: RMB 800 for Level 4, RMB 1000 for Level 5 and RMB 1200 for Level 6.
• HSK taken before the end of semester nine, before entering clinical internship: RMB 450 for Level 4, RMB 550 for Level 5 and RMB 650 for Level 6.

2. Eligible students

Registered full-time self-funded international undergraduates at the university.

3. Eligibility

1. Comply with Chinese laws and the regulations of Fujian Medical University and its Overseas Education College.
2. No disciplinary warning or more severe penalty for university violations during the award period.
3. No unpaid tuition, accommodation, insurance or other fees during the award period.
4. Pass all general Chinese course examinations, take HSK before the end of semester six and score at least 180.
5. Take HSK before the end of semester nine, before clinical internship, and score at least 180.
6. Students taking progressively higher HSK levels and scoring at least 180 may apply for the corresponding level’s scholarship under conditions 4 and 5 above.
7. HSK must be taken at the Fujian Medical University test center.

4. Application period

Within the first month of each semester.

5. Procedure

1. Students apply based on HSK results and submit documents.
2. Chinese teachers review materials and recommend a preliminary list.
3. The college’s student award review leadership group conducts preliminary assessment and publishes the list within the college for 3 working days.
4. If there are no objections, the list goes to the university’s international student award review leadership group for approval. After the approved list is publicized within the university for another 3 working days, final scholarship results are announced.

6. Documents

Two copies of the Fujian Medical University International Student Chinese Language Learning Scholarship Application Form and two copies of the HSK result report.
