Shaanxi Normal University International Student Scholarship

This full or partial scholarship enables the university to select and directly recruit outstanding international master’s and doctoral students.

Students required to take Chinese preparation must obtain the prescribed HSK certificate or pass the university’s Chinese test at completion, then gain school approval for academic study. Those failing within the prescribed preparation period may undertake a one-year academic trial but must pass during that year; otherwise they complete as visiting students and return home.

III. Teaching Languages

All programs are taught in Chinese. Entirely English-taught doctoral programs are computer software and technology, and curriculum and teaching theory.

Generally January 1-May 20.

V. Eligibility

1. Non-Chinese citizenship and good health.
2. Master’s: bachelor’s degree, no older than 35. Doctoral: master’s degree, no older than 40.

VII. Procedure

1. Complete, submit and print the scholarship application through https://snnu.17gz.org/.
2. Prepare the documents below and submit to the International Student Administration Office within the prescribed period.

VIII. Documents

Submit truthfully in two sets:

1. International Student Application Form generated and printed from the online system.
2. Notarized highest qualification. Current students or employed applicants also provide expected graduation or employment evidence. Other languages require notarized Chinese or English translations.
3. Academic transcripts for master’s and doctoral applicants, with notarized Chinese or English translations for documents in other languages.
4. Personally signed study and research plan of at least 1500 words, in Chinese or English.
5. Two signed professor or associate professor recommendations in Chinese or English.
6. Passport photograph page copy.
7. Copy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form, retaining the original. Uniformly printed by Chinese health and quarantine authorities, applicable only to study exceeding 6 months and completed in English. Complete all listed examinations. Missing items, an absent photograph or cross-photo seal, or absent physician and hospital signatures and seals invalidate it. Results are valid for 6 months; schedule accordingly.

Mail documents before May 20 to the International Student Administration Office. Materials are not returned regardless of admission results.
