Qingdao University President Scholarship

This government scholarship develops international education, attracts outstanding international students and strengthens Qingdao University’s international influence. Review follows openness, fairness and impartiality.

I. Coverage

Tuition, basic on-campus accommodation, basic living allowance and comprehensive international student insurance.

II. Programs and Eligibility

1. Foreign citizenship and good health, generally aged 18-40.
2. Intended master’s or doctoral entry in September 2018.
3. Compliance with Chinese law, excellent results and good conduct, meeting university international postgraduate admission standards.
4. Excellent results and no simultaneous other scholarship.
5. All master’s and doctoral programs.

III. Documents

1. President Scholarship Application Form.
2. International Degree Student Admission Application Form.
3. CV.
4. Passport copy.
5. Chinese or English original or notarized qualification evidence. Graduating students may provide expected graduation or enrollment evidence, but must provide the qualification after admission to obtain admission eligibility.
6. Chinese or English original scans or notarized transcripts for the highest qualification.
7. Employment evidence if employed.
8. HSK Level 5 results for Chinese-taught programs.
9. English evidence for English-taught programs.
10. Recommendations from two experts or scholars with associate professor or equivalent or higher titles.
11. Chinese or English personal statement including education, employment and future plans.
12. Relevant award certificates.
13. RMB 400 application fee, payable by bank transfer, with account details requested by email, or cash at the office.

IV. Review

Students enrolled for 1 year or longer undergo annual review of results, learning attitude, attendance, conduct, rewards and sanctions. Collect the form at March registration. Unjustified nonparticipation or failure cancels eligibility.

V. Submission: Choose One

2. Mail to International Students Office, Qingdao University, 308 Ningxia Road, Qingdao, 266071.
3. Submit in person to the International Students Office, Qingdao University. Directions: International Students Office, School of International Education, Qingdao University, 308 Ningxia Road, Qingdao. The office is in Minxing Building, in the western section of the main campus; turn left after entering the main gate, 100 meters north of the International Exchange Center.

VI. Dates and Results

Submit all documents to the international admissions office between March 15 and May 20 each year. Results generally appear within 45 working days after documents are confirmed valid. The university then issues the Admission Notice, Visa Application Form for Study in China JW202, scholarship notice and related documents. Consult the local Chinese embassy or consulate for visa details.

VII. Other Requirement

Recipients must provide at least 120 volunteer hours annually, assisting admissions advice, academic tutoring, activities and living services.

Coverage and Standards

Tuition, accommodation, living allowance and comprehensive insurance.

1. Tuition is administered for education and management.
2. Accommodation provides free dormitories, generally twin rooms.
3. Monthly living allowance: RMB 2500 for doctoral students and RMB 1500 for master’s students.
4. Hosts purchase insurance under Ministry of Education rules.
