Part One: Introduction

This scholarship develops friendly relations between Chinese and overseas trade unions, strengthens friendship among workers, and contributes to peace, development, cooperation, workers’ rights and social progress.

It mainly supports trade union officials from Belt and Road countries for one academic year of Chinese study, fully covering tuition, accommodation, living allowance, comprehensive insurance and one round-trip international journey. Funding is provided by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions.

Category: Outstanding trade union officials from Belt and Road countries with some professional experience.

Duration: One academic year, 12 months.

Language: Chinese.

Host: Beijing Language and Culture University.

Funding per person per academic year Amount
Accommodation RMB 8400
Living allowance RMB 36000
Tuition RMB 25000

Living allowance: Paid monthly. Registration on or before the 15th earns a full month; later registration, half. Graduates receive payment through half a month after the designated completion date. Personal absence from China exceeding 15 days outside normal vacations stops payment for that period.

Insurance: Purchased and paid centrally by CSC. For coverage and claims, see the Comprehensive Medical Insurance Introduction and Claims Guide at http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or http://www.campuschina.org.

International travel: The All-China Federation of Trade Unions centrally purchases economy-class tickets from the home country to the university’s city on first arrival and back after completion.

Part Four: Arrival Information

I. Visa

Recipients must present originals and copies of the Admission Notice, Visa Application Form for Study in China JW201 and physical examination form, plus a valid ordinary passport, to a Chinese embassy, consulate-general or other overseas visa authority. Study exceeding six months requires X1; shorter than six months may use X2. Other passport or visa types, or missing originals, prevent registration and residence procedures.

Visa costs are self-funded.

II. Registration, Health Verification and Residence Permission

  1. Registration

Bring originals of the Admission Notice, JW201 and physical examination form and register at the designated university on the notice’s date. Request leave directly if unable to arrive. Unapproved late arrival is treated as abandonment of student status and automatically cancels the scholarship.

  1. Health and residence

For study exceeding six months, take original passport, Admission Notice, examination form, blood test results and related documents to the local health and quarantine authority for verification. An unsatisfactory form requires a new examination. Refusal or discovery of a disease barred from entry results in departure within a prescribed period.

Apply for a residence permit within visa authorities’ specified period at the local public security authority with passport, Admission Notice, JW201, valid health verification and compliant photographs.
