Ningxia Medical University Ningxia Government Scholarship

The university established this autonomous-region government scholarship to develop international education and attract outstanding students from more countries and at higher levels.

I. Award Principles

Fairness, impartiality and openness, improving quality, scale and educational level, with emphasis on outstanding students from newly represented countries, higher-level study and Belt and Road countries.

II. Recipients

International master’s and doctoral students with excellent conduct and results.

III. Coverage and Standards

Master’s applicants: RMB 69800/person/year for 3 years. Doctoral applicants: RMB 80800/person/year for 3 years. Funding includes normal-duration tuition, accommodation, comprehensive insurance and living expenses. Monthly allowances are RMB 2500 for master’s students and RMB 3000 for doctoral students.

IV. Eligibility

1. Non-Chinese citizenship and good health.
2. Doctoral applicants need a master’s degree and should generally be no older than 40; master’s applicants need a bachelor’s degree and should generally be no older than 35.
3. Friendliness toward China and compliance with Chinese laws and university rules.
4. Excellent results and outstanding overall performance.
5. No simultaneous other scholarship.

V. Review and Approval

1. Apply to the School of International Education March-June each year.
2. The school compiles applications and conducts preliminary review:
   • Newly admitted master’s and doctoral applicants must have strong undergraduate and master’s results and academic and research capabilities.
   • Enrolled postgraduate applicants undergo comprehensive assessment of the previous year’s results, attitude, attendance and conduct under the relevant provisions of the Ministry of Education’s Measures for the Annual Review of Scholarships for International Postgraduate Students. Only those passing receive the following year’s funding.

VI. Payment

1. Scholarships are issued in October each year.
2. Personal failure to register during the prescribed entry period cancels eligibility.
3. Violations of national laws or university rules, or inability to continue for health or related reasons, cause cancellation or suspension.
4. Students not graduating within the prescribed period receive no further funding.
