Northwestern Polytechnical University Study at NPU President Scholarship

I. Coverage and amounts

1. Excellence Scholarship

Undergraduate: Tuition and accommodation waivers, plus RMB 1500/month.

Postgraduate: Tuition, insurance and accommodation waivers, plus RMB 2000/month for master’s students and RMB 3500/month for doctoral students.

2. Full Scholarship: 100% of tuition.

3. Partial Scholarship: 50% of tuition.

4. Outstanding International Visiting Student Scholarship.

II. Programs

• Excellence, Full and Half Scholarships: all programs offered to undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degree students.
• Outstanding International Visiting Student Scholarship: all programs offered to non-degree exchange and visiting students.

III. Eligibility

1. Hold a foreign passport and be physically and mentally healthy.

2. Qualifications and age:

(1) Bachelor’s applicants: high-school qualification, generally no older than 30.

(2) Master’s applicants: bachelor’s degree, generally no older than 35.

(3) Doctoral applicants: master’s degree, generally no older than 40.

3. Language:

(1) Chinese-taught: HSK Level 4, 200 or above, and HSKK Intermediate or above.

(2) English-taught: IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, GRE, PTE, Duolingo and Cambridge Advanced English results are accepted. See the International College’s official website for specific requirements.

4. Grade requirements:

(1) Undergraduate applicants under different grading systems:

Maximum score	100	20	10	5	4
Required score	70	14	7	3.5	2.8

Note: Nepalese students require 3/5.

(2) Postgraduate applicants:

Maximum score	100	4.0	5.0
Required score	≥75	≥3.0	≥3.75

5. Outstanding International Visiting Student applicants must meet one condition:

(1) Attend an institution in the current year’s global top 200 in Times Higher Education, U.S. News, QS, Shanghai Jiao Tong University or ShanghaiRanking world university rankings.

(2) Study a subject in the current year’s global top 100 in Times Higher Education, U.S. News, QS, Shanghai Jiao Tong University or ShanghaiRanking subject rankings.

(3) Be an international student recommended by a university honorary-title professor.

(4) Be from a strategic partner institution with a signed agreement at school level or above.
