Wuhan University of Technology Friendship Scholarship for International Students

1. Coverage

To strengthen cultural, educational and scientific exchange and attract outstanding international students, the university established this scholarship mainly to support study expenses for self-funded undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students with excellent character and results after at least one academic year.

(1) First prize: full tuition waiver for the award year.

(2) Second prize: half tuition waiver.

(3) Third prize: 30% tuition waiver.

3. Eligibility

(1) Self-funded degree students with at least one academic year of study may apply and must submit annual review forms on time.

(2) During the review period, 20 or more unexcused class hours in a semester and/or adverse records such as unpaid fees, failed results or late dormitory return automatically disqualify applicants.

(3) Applicants in the top three of the same year, level and discipline by review-period results may become preliminary candidates.

(4) Before September 30, candidates submit previously uncounted results from the preceding semester. They must pass all courses and remain in the top three after taking the arithmetic mean of their updated average and review-period average. Final candidates are submitted for university approval.

(5) Rank first with an average of at least 80: first prize.

(6) Rank second with an average of at least 75: second prize.

(7) Rank third with an average of at least 75: third prize.

4. Review deadline: Before May 31 each year.

5. Procedure

(1) Self-funded degree students with at least one academic year who submit the annual review form and preceding calendar-year transcript before May 31 are automatically considered.

(2) During the review period, 20 unexcused class hours in a semester, three or more late dormitory returns and/or unpaid fees, failed results or other adverse records cause automatic disqualification.

(3) The top three in the same year, level and discipline become preliminary candidates.

(4) Before September 30, they provide uncounted second-semester results for the assessed academic year. After passing all courses, those still in the top three by the arithmetic mean of that average and the review-period average become final candidates for approval.

(5) The scholarship applies to the academic year containing the date of the formal university approval notice.

6. Documents

Academic-year annual review application form, covering September 1 of the preceding year to May 31 of the following year, and calendar-year transcript, covering January 1-December 31 of the preceding year.
