Tianjin Foreign Studies University Scholarship for New Students

1. Scholarship Coverage and Standards

Covers tuition fees for the first year and comprehensive medical insurance for international students in China.

2. Available Programs

All degree programs.

3. Eligibility

Undergraduate: senior high school graduate, aged 18–35, in good health, with an HSK Level 4 certificate.

Master’s: university graduate in a related field, no older than 40, in good health, with HSK Level 5.

Doctoral: master’s graduate in a related field, no older than 45, in good health, with HSK Level 6.

4. Application Dates

Application deadline: March 15–June 30.

5. Application Procedure

Complete the information and submit application materials on the Tianjin Foreign Studies University admissions website (http://tfsu.at0086.com/StuApplication/Login.aspx) → materials review → announcement of scholarship recipients → mailing of visa application documents.

6. Required Application Materials

Applicants must truthfully complete and submit the following materials:

(1) Notarized proof of highest educational qualification (copy).

Applicants who are currently students must also submit proof of enrollment issued by their school.

(2) Original transcript for the applicant’s most recent educational qualification and a copy of the HSK certificate.

(3) Study or research plan in China — Study Plan

Applicants may describe their study and research plan in China in detail in Chinese or English (additional sheets may be attached; at least 800 words).

(4) Recommendation letters from two teachers holding the rank of associate professor or above, or equivalent positions (2 letters, in Chinese or English; undergraduate applicants do not need to provide these).

(5) Foreigner Physical Examination Form (copy).

The form must be completed in English. Applicants must strictly undergo all examination items required by the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Forms with missing items, no applicant photograph, no stamp across the photograph, or no signatures and stamps from the doctor and hospital are invalid. Examination results are valid for 6 months, so applicants should schedule their examination accordingly. Once admitted, students must bring all original medical examination records when reporting to the university, for confirmation of the medical examination in China.
