Mudanjiang Normal University President Scholarship

Mudanjiang Normal University is described as the earliest-established, largest and strongest provincial undergraduate institution in southeastern Heilongjiang. It is a national institution for large-scale teacher training in language and culture, a Ministry of Education base for exchanges between Chinese and Russian university students, an institution hosting Chinese Government Scholarship students, and southeastern Heilongjiang’s center for teacher education research, basic education research, and continuing education and training.

The university is located in the scenic city of Mudanjiang, a National Excellent Tourism City, and has a 60-year history. It occupies 1.05 million square meters, has 18 schools and offers 54 undergraduate programs. Its master’s education covers 8 first-level disciplines.

I. Application Channel and Period

Applicants must apply to Mudanjiang Normal University within the prescribed period, before March 20 each year.

II. Eligibility

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.

2. Educational qualification and age requirements:

Bachelor’s applicants must have a senior high school education and be no older than 25.

Master’s applicants must have an undergraduate education and be no older than 35.

3. Good academic results.

4. Strong research ability.

5. Not receiving any other scholarship support.

III. Application Materials

Applicants must truthfully complete and submit the following materials, each in duplicate:

1. The Scholarship Application Form for International Students in China, completed in Chinese or English.

2. Notarized proof of highest educational qualification. Applicants who are students or employed must also submit proof of enrollment from their school or proof of employment from their employer. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must include a notarized Chinese or English translation.

3. Recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors, written in Chinese or English.

4. If the applicant has passed the HSK examination, provide a copy of the Chinese proficiency certificate.

5. 1 copy of the passport.

6. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (copy; retain the original yourself).

Application materials will not be returned, regardless of admission.

IV. Admission Categories and Teaching Language

Teaching is in Chinese. Students with no Chinese foundation must complete 1 year of supplementary Chinese study before entering their degree program.

V. Scholarship Coverage and Standards

Notes:

1. Scholarship students requesting experiments or internships beyond the university’s teaching plan must pay the additional costs themselves.

2. International travel and living expenses are the student’s responsibility.

3. Students whose Chinese proficiency is insufficient to begin their degree program immediately must take supplementary Chinese courses after arrival. The scholarship does not cover this period, and all fees must be paid by the students themselves.

4. Comprehensive insurance for international students in China mainly covers expenses incurred through hospitalization for serious illness or accidental personal injury. The scholarship student’s institution or the rescue organization that advances payment must submit the relevant receipts and claim reimbursement from the insurance company under the pre-agreed policy terms. The insurer does not accept claims from individuals.

VI. Admission and Notification

2. Mudanjiang Normal University reviews applicants’ materials and submits them to the China Scholarship Council.

3. In early July, Mudanjiang Normal University will mail an Admission Notice, Registration Instructions and Visa Application for Study in China (JW202) to scholarship applicants who meet the admission requirements. Admitted students must report to the university and register within the specified period at the end of August.
