China Academy of Art Scholarship for International Students in China

China Academy of Art has established the China Academy of Art Scholarship for International Students to encourage and support outstanding international students who wish to study at the academy and demonstrate academic excellence and good conduct. Given the particular nature of an art institution, the selection requirements and rules are as follows.

I. Scholarship Coverage and Standards

1. Doctoral students: RMB 40000/year.

2. Master’s students: RMB 30000/year.

3. Undergraduates: RMB 20000/year.

4. Non-degree students: ① Chinese language students: RMB 6000/year; ② Chinese painting and calligraphy students: RMB 12000/year. (Limited to non-degree students at the International College.)

II. Available Programs

All programs offered by China Academy of Art.

III. Eligibility

1. Applicants must be international students who have already received a Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship, including undergraduates, master’s students and doctoral students.

2. Applicants must be non-degree students who have studied at the International College of China Academy of Art for at least one year, including one full year.

3. Requirements: ① No disciplinary penalties or fee arrears. ② Evaluation is based on examination results and overall performance.

4. Applicants must actively participate in activities organized by the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the institution.

5. Students may not apply if: ① Their attendance rate is below 85%. ② They have failed any courses.

IV. Application Procedure

1. Visit “Downloads” at http://admission.caa.edu.cn/, download and complete the Annual Application Form for the China Academy of Art Scholarship for International Students, and submit it to the office of the applicant’s academic school or department. After approval, the school or department submits the applications together to the International College.

2. The International College conducts a preliminary review of all applicants’ qualifications under the Interim Rules for the Selection of the China Academy of Art Scholarship for International Students, selects recommended candidates, and submits them to the responsible academy leader for review and approval.

3. The approved list of recipients will be publicly posted to recognize their achievements.

V. Required Application Materials

1. Annual Application Form for the China Academy of Art Scholarship for International Students (the supervisor must sign their comments, and the academic school or department must stamp its comments).

2. Academic transcript (officially printed and stamped by the university’s Academic Affairs Office or Graduate Office).

Note: the scholarship is evaluated once each March. Only students who pass the evaluation may receive the scholarship for that academic year.
