1. Full-time Chinese language and preparatory traditional Chinese medicine students

Students must pass examinations for all courses required at that stage and achieve attendance of at least 80%.

2. Bachelor’s students

  1. Annual review takes place in September.
  2. Assessment is based on the previous academic year’s average grade point average and university conduct. Students with an average GPA of at least 2.0, including 2.0, continue to receive aid. Those below 2.0 have eligibility suspended and receive no grants during suspension.

3. Master’s and doctoral students

  1. Annual review takes place in September.

At the beginning of the third academic year, assessment is based on second-year thesis-proposal results, midterm assessment results and university conduct.

V. Important notes

  1. Recipients receive grants only after paying the full tuition for the relevant year. International students are ineligible during suspension of studies, and eligibility resumes when they return to study.
  2. If, before payment, a recipient is disciplined for violating Chinese laws and regulations or university rules, withdraws for any reason, or fails to cooperate with the university’s assessment and review, preparatory traditional Chinese medicine students lose eligibility for that semester, while bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students lose eligibility for the current and all subsequent academic years.

VI. Other matters

  1. This program applies only to full-time Chinese language and preparatory traditional Chinese medicine students enrolled after February 2017.
  2. The program takes effect upon publication. Where earlier relevant rules conflict with it, this program prevails.
  3. The International Education College of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is responsible for interpreting the program.
