In response to the national Belt and Road initiative, the university established the Taiyuan University of Technology Belt and Road Special Scholarship in 2015 and admitted its first international students. The scholarship aims to train outstanding international talent for countries and regions along the Belt and Road. It provides a tuition waiver and a monthly living allowance of RMB 500, paid for 10 months each year. Students pay all other expenses. Register and apply at:
