Heihe University

Founded in 1958, Heihe University is located in Heihe, Heilongjiang Province, a city known as the “Pearl of the Northern Frontier.” It is China’s only regular undergraduate institution along the more than 4300-kilometer China-Russia border.

The institution was upgraded to a full-time undergraduate university in 2004 and became part of Heilongjiang’s provincially administered university system in April 2006. Over more than fifty years of development, it has consistently pursued the mission of developing talent for regional development, serving the border region and promoting local culture. It has gradually formed a spirit of “Building through Hard Work, Developing through Innovation, Educating People to Strengthen the Border, and Unremitting Self-Improvement.” It actively responds to changes in higher education, pursues reform and innovation, strengthens internal quality development, and comprehensively improves educational quality.

Heihe University is an official host institution for the Chinese Government Scholarship, International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship and Heilongjiang Provincial Government Scholarship. Since beginning international student education, it has educated students from many countries and regions. Its Friendship Building provides dedicated modern classrooms for international students.
