Kunming University of Science and Technology has a long educational history. It is a comprehensive university centered on engineering, integrating science and engineering and also offering management, economics, education, medicine and other disciplines. It is Yunnan Province’s largest key university, with a relatively complete range of educational levels and categories. It also provides preparatory education, continuing education, vocational training and Chinese language training for international learners. It has a strong teaching and research workforce of approximately 3900 people, including over 1300 with senior professional and technical positions. It has 3 full-time academicians: 2 of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and 1 of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It has over 60000 students of various types, including over 11000 doctoral and master’s students and approximately 1500 international students.
