Liaoning University of Technology

Founded in 1951, Liaoning University of Technology (LUT) has remained dedicated to development and talent training for more than seventy years. Led by engineering, it promotes coordinated development in science, engineering, economics, management, literature, law and art, creating an educational ecosystem that comprehensively develops students’ learning, practical and innovative abilities. It is committed to becoming a high-level applied university and has educated many high-quality applied professionals for society.

It has 18 teaching schools and departments and more than 17000 full-time students, including over 14000 undergraduates, over 2300 postgraduate students and nearly 300 international students. It offers 47 undergraduate programs and has 11 national first-class undergraduate program development sites and 2 Sino-foreign joint education programs.

It has a strong faculty of more than 1300 teachers, including 575 professors and associate professors. More than 40% hold doctoral degrees. Over the past five years, it has received approval for over 700 national and provincial research projects, won 28 science and technology awards at provincial or ministerial level or above, published over 1500 high-level academic papers, and received more than 1500 granted patents. Its graduate employment rate has remained at least 90%, among the highest at Liaoning universities. It has 1 Liaoning first-level discipline, 11 first-level master’s degree authorization fields, 41 second-level master’s degree authorization fields, 8 professional degree categories, and 18 major research platforms including provincial and ministerial key laboratories and technology innovation centers.

It places strong emphasis on educational internationalization, actively advances exchange and cooperation, and participates deeply in the Belt and Road initiative. It has inter-university partnerships with 40 universities in countries including Russia, Greece, South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Poland, Germany, Japan, New Zealand and Thailand. Cooperation includes 2+2 and 3+1 joint student training, long- and short-term student exchanges and mutual visits, and language training. It is qualified to admit Chinese Government Scholarship students and has repeatedly received approval for national China-Europe Credit Mobility projects, Silk Road Chinese Government Scholarship programs, and Chinese Government Scholarship High-Level Postgraduate programs. It has 2 Ministry of Education-approved Sino-foreign joint undergraduate programs, enabling it to train multidisciplinary international professionals with global competitiveness.
