Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province, has a long history and rich cultural heritage and is known as the ancient capital of six dynasties. It is an important central city in eastern China, a national historical and cultural city, a national advanced manufacturing base and regional innovation hub, and an open, inclusive, livable and welcoming modern international city.
Founded in 1953, Nanjing University of Science and Technology is administered by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It has 21 schools, more than 2400 full-time teachers and over 30000 students across multiple disciplines and programs. Twelve disciplines rank in the ESI global top 1%, with Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry and Computer Science performing particularly strongly in the global top 1‰.
It has 11 national key laboratories and 63 provincial or ministerial research platforms. It has received a cumulative 111 national science and technology awards.
It places strong emphasis on training internationally oriented talent. It offers Chinese- and English-taught master’s and doctoral programs and develops students’ capabilities through an “AI+, Innovation+, Practice+, Chinese Language+” curriculum and internship bases. It has more than 800 international students from over 90 countries, emphasizes academic freedom, interdisciplinary innovation and global cooperation, and offers Chinese- and English-taught and supervisor-based training pathways.
