Shenyang Aerospace University

Founded in 1952, Shenyang Aerospace University is an engineering-led multidisciplinary institution distinguished by aviation and aerospace, covering engineering, science, literature, economics, management, art and law. It offers 55 undergraduate programs, including Aircraft Design and Engineering and Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation. It is authorized to award doctoral degrees and recommend students for master’s admission without an entrance examination. It has 3 first-level doctoral degree authorization fields, 1 postdoctoral research station, 14 first-level master’s degree authorization fields, and 10 professional master’s degree categories. Engineering and Materials Science rank in the ESI global top 1%. It has 5 distinctive national defense disciplines and 3 advantageous and distinctive disciplines under the provincial Double First-Class initiative.

Program quality continues to improve. It maintains undergraduate education at its core and continually strengthens the substance of its programs. Ten programs have passed engineering education accreditation. It has 3 programs under the national Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program, 1 pilot program for comprehensive reform, 2 national defense key or urgently needed programs, 18 national first-class undergraduate program development sites, and 33 provincial demonstration programs for first-class undergraduate education.

Its faculty structure continues to improve. It strengthens faculty development and has more than 1500 faculty and staff, including 1060 full-time teachers, 550 staff with senior professional titles and 563 doctorate holders.

Its external exchange platforms continue to develop. It consistently pursues open and international education and has partnerships with 195 universities and research institutes in 54 countries and regions. It has 2 Sino-foreign joint undergraduate programs and 1 joint education institution, and more than 20 inter-university joint training and exchange programs with overseas institutions. Since 2007, more than 5000 international students from over 100 countries have studied here. It offers 5 undergraduate, 5 master’s and 2 doctoral programs, and has 2 Ministry of Education flagship English-taught courses for international students. It has been qualified to educate Chinese Government Scholarship students and designated a Liaoning Demonstration Base for International Student Education. It passed Ministry of Education quality accreditation, received the Liaoning Demonstration University for International Student Education and Liaoning Advanced Collective in International Student Education honors, and was selected among the 50 Chinese universities in the China-Africa Universities 100 Cooperation Plan.
