University of Jinan

Shandong Province lies in eastern China. It is Confucius’s home province, the birthplace of Confucian culture and China’s third-largest provincial economy.

Jinan, Shandong’s capital, is known as the “City of Springs.” It is a national historical and cultural city, adjoining Mount Tai, a World Natural and Cultural Heritage site, to the south and the Yellow River, known as the “Mother River of the Chinese Nation,” to the north.

The University of Jinan is a comprehensive university jointly developed by the Shandong Provincial People’s Government and Ministry of Education. It is a Shandong priority development university and one of the province’s first distinctive institutions for applied talent cultivation, authorized to award bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees.

Its campuses cover 2.43 million square meters. It has 23 schools and 5 postdoctoral research stations, with over 38000 full-time undergraduate, postgraduate and international students. Its programs cover 11 categories, including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, medicine, management and arts. Nine disciplines rank in the global ESI top 1%, and 9 appear in ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects.

The university follows an open approach and expands cooperation with overseas educational institutions. Through reciprocal academic visits, exchanges and cooperative education, it has partnerships with over 120 universities in countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Russia, Japan, South Korea and Singapore. It has 1 Confucius Institute in the Republic of the Congo and 3 country and regional studies centers: Iceland, Francophone Africa and the Caribbean. It has trained over 4000 international students from more than 70 countries and regions.
