Which identity document can I use?

ID Document Requirements

To ensure accurate identity verification and examination security, only the original passport is accepted as a valid identification document for the CSCA examination. Please read the following regulations carefully:

I. Accepted Identification Document

Only a regular (booklet-type) passport is accepted, and it must meet all of the following requirements:

· Contains the candidate’s photo, full name, date of birth, and validity period;

· If a signature page is included, it must be signed by the passport holder;

· The passport must remain valid from the date of exam registration through the score release date.

· The passport must be a government-issued physical document (electronic copies, scans, or photocopies are not accepted as substitutes for the original document).

II. Unaccepted Document Types

Documents other than a regular (booklet-type) passport will not be accepted, including but not limited to:

Passport cards; diplomatic, official, or service passports; national ID cards; driver’s licenses; student IDs; residence permits or residence cards; social security cards; electronic IDs; temporary travel documents; visa pages; and copies of a regular passport in any form, including photocopies, scanned images, or screenshots.

III. Validity and Legibility Requirements

A regular (booklet-type) passport will be considered invalid and will not be accepted if it meets any of the following conditions:

· The passport is invalid, cancelled, revoked, expired, or missing validity information;

· The information page or the issuance page is obscured, reflective, blurred, or incompletely cropped, making key information unclear or unreadable;

· The passport image or content has been forged, altered, or tampered with, or contains added watermarks, annotations, or other improper markings;

· The passport information is false, incomplete, or fails to accurately reflect the candidate’s identity;

· The passport has missing or detached pages, loose or broken binding, or shows physical damage such as torn, stained, or deformed pages;

· Any other issues or defects that affect the normal use of the passport or the accuracy of identity verification.

IV. Requirements During Registration and on Test Day

1. Registration:

Candidates must register using the information on their own valid passport (booklet type). Their name, gender, date of birth, passport number, and nationality must match the passport exactly.

2. On Test Day:

Candidates must present the original passport that matches the registration information and meets the above requirements during the identity verification process.

Failure to present a valid original passport that meets these requirements will result in cancellation of exam eligibility, and exam fees will not be refunded.

V. Passport Renewal or Changes

If a passport is lost, renewed, or contains updated information after registration, the candidate must, before the admission ticket is generated, submit a CSCA Information Correction Request Form through the official channel, along with the following materials:

· A clear scanned copy of the new passport information page;

· A scanned copy of the information page of the previous passport (in case of renewal or replacement), or an official report issued by the competent administrative authority (in case of loss).

All requests will be reviewed to ensure the continuity and authenticity of identity information. Upon approval, the relevant data in the registration system will be updated accordingly.

Important Reminder:

Candidates are responsible for keeping their passports safe and ensuring that the document remains legally valid throughout the entire process of registration, examination, scoring, and score publication. If the passport is close to expiration, candidates must complete the renewal process in advance and update their information in a timely manner to prevent any disruption to the test.

VI. Deadlines

All applications related to registration and changes to identification documents must be completed by the specified deadlines. Deadlines are based on Beijing Time (UTC+8), as displayed in the registration system.
