Equipment and network · Home-based online test
1. Primary Device (Computer used for test delivery and front-facing monitoring)
✅Operating System: Windows 10/11 or Windows 7 SP1 or above, 64-bit, genuine licensed system. (⚠ MacOS is not supported).
✅**Runtime Environment:**To ensure test security and system compatibility, CSCA Test Software must run on a real physical hardware environment and meet the following requirements:
- Only a single physical monitor is supported.
- Local operation only; remote desktop, cloud PCs, or any remote access are not allowed.
- All virtualization technologies must be disabled, including but not limited to Hyper-V, Windows Sandbox, WSL/WSL2, and VBS.
⚠ Important Notice: Some devices (such as certain Microsoft Surface models) may have compatibility issues with the CSCA Test Software due to their system architecture or virtualization-based security settings, which may prevent the software from running properly.
Please make sure to complete the required Equipment and Software Check within the designated pre-exam period to confirm that the CSCA Test Software can run normally. If the software fails to launch or functions abnormally during the test, please promptly switch to a compliant Windows desktop or laptop computer.
✅**Configuration:**Display resolution ≥ 1366×768, RAM ≥ 4GB
✅**Hard Drive:**At least 2 GB of free space on the drive where you install the Test Software. (Installing on the C: drive is not recommended).
✅**Screen:**External monitors are not allowed. Do not use a screen privacy filter or anti-glare cover. Your screen must remain clearly visible to the proctor at all times.
✅**Camera:**Built-in laptop or external USB webcam placed directly above the screen, with a minimum resolution of 720p (1080p recommended)
✅**Audio:**For desktop computers, use external speakers and a microphone; wireless headphones/earbuds are strictly prohibited
✅**CSCA Test Software:**You must install the latest version of the designated Software before the test day.
✅**Power:**Plug your computer into a power source for the entire test.
2. Secondary Device (Smartphone or tablet used for rear-side room monitoring)
✅ Device Requirements:
- Can be a smartphone or tablet with a functioning camera.
- Must be capable of running the designated CSCA Secondary Camera Portal (browser-based).
- The camera must provide a clear, unobstructed, and stable view at an appropriate angle.
- Ensure sufficient battery power, or keep the device plugged in throughout the test where possible.
✅ Supporting Equipment
- Stable stand or tripod keep the device steady.
- Charger or power bank to prevent power loss during the test.
3. Network Connection
✅**Bandwidth:**Symmetrical upload/download bandwidth ≥ 20Mbps
✅**Internet Speed:**Sustained connection speed ≥ 500 KB/s
✅**Connection Type:**A wired broadband connection is strongly recommended; close all non-test applications and background processes on the test day.
✅**Speed Test Tool:**After logging into the Registration System or the CSCA Test Software, use the built-in speed test tool to verify your connection quality.
✅**Backup:**Prepare a backup 4G mobile hotspot and know how to switch to it quickly if needed.
⚠ Important Notice: Test takers are strictly prohibited from using any tools or services that may alter, conceal, forward, or proxy network connections, network exit points, or IP addresses, including but not limited to VPNs, proxy servers, proxy software, network accelerators, and similar tools.
If a test taker is unable to complete the Equipment and Software Check or the Proctored Mock Test without using such tools, this indicates that the current network environment does not meet the requirements for the CSCA Home-based Test. Test takers should switch to a compliant network environment in advance or promptly contact the CSCA Technical Support Team for assistance.
